What are your summer plans?
This was my view when I was eating lunch the other day! The beach is currently dead but it will soon be full of tourists for the summer! Not a bad view right? :)

Summer Plans
During the school year I live in Sacramento however because it is summer I am currently back home for a few months. The first thing that was on my to do list when I got home was to get a summer job! Praise God, I found one! I hunted on various job boards and finally came across the perfect one; this summer I am working full time at a surf shop literally 10 steps away from the beach. After being in Sacramento for 9 months and being apart from the ocean for so long I absolutely love where I work! I know sounds ridiculous, but after growing up by the beach my whole life it was definitely an adjustment moving away from it. So that is my summer plan, to work as much as I can and save money before heading back up to school!
Life is Expensive..especially when you are in college
That statement could not be more true. As a 20 something year old college student who experienced her first year living on her own in the city I quickly learned that life is expensive.
My dear friend (who also happens to be my roommate!) and I experienced a huge shock when we both moved out of our parents houses. It was a little bit of a bumpy start for the two of us as we quickly discovered that we needed a budget or we would both be broke by the end of our first semester. Another thing that broke our heart was that there was no more weekly retail shopping trips like we used to have. However all of this helped us become smart and savvy shoppers who love hunt for great deals!
It is my firm belief that you can live life on a budget but still have great meals to eat and fabulous clothes to wear! My hope for this blog is to share with new college students who may be living on their own for the first time and even those who aren't in college some helpful clues, tips and maybe even some recipes on how to live a happy and fabulous life on a budget! Enjoy! :)
